BELLMARSH, ST GEORGE'S HILL, SURREY

This spacious family house occupies a steeply sloping site in the heart of this heavily wooded prestige estate. The slope is such that the basement opens out to the garden at the lower level.

A gracious half-spiral stair runs the full 4-storey height of the house, connecting the leisure complex in the basement, the family accommodation on the upper ground floor, three bedrooms on the first floor, and four in the attic.

There is a three-car garage behind the house with staff accommodation above. The ingenious layout was developed in collaboration with Simon Latner of Royalton. The house is finished in two colours of brick with artificial stone, painted timber features, and a slate roof.
